December 21, 2022 by Julie 4 Comments

From stick-sweet monkey bread to our family’s beloved cheesy Christmas-morning casserole, today’s post includes a roundup of holiday breakfast recipes worthy of a festive celebration! Most are easy to make and many can be prepped ahead, making them all the more appealing for holiday hosting!

Holiday Breakfast Recipes

Hi friends! Today I’m popping in with a roundup of easy holiday breakfast recipes. Whether you’re hosting a big gang of people this holiday season or plan to keep your celebrations small, ’tis the season for sticky-sweet monkey bread, deliciously savory egg bakes and festive favorites! All of the recipes I am sharing today are recipes we love in our house that I think are also very worthy of making during the holiday season when loved ones are visiting, friends and family are in town or when you are simply in the mood for a little something special!

I hope you enjoy these sweet and savory recipes as much as we do!

Holiday Breakfast Recipes

  • My Mom’s Monkey Bread Recipe

Monkey Bread

You know this one had to make the list! Sometimes recipes are more than just recipes and, to me, my mom’s monkey bread is comfort, love, home, safety and holiday magic. It’s a sticky-sweet, buttery, nostalgic reminder of Christmas morning and one of our family’s most cherished recipes.

  • Holiday Cheese Puff Casserole

This Holiday Cheese Puff Casserole is perfect for a holiday breakfast or special family brunch, this recipe for cheese puff casserole is a savory dish the whole family will love. Made with creamy sharp cheddar cheese and diced ham, it’s a recipe you can prep ahead to make breakfast a breeze! It’s a part our family’s Christmas morning tradition!

  • Gingerbread Granola

Easy Holiday Breakfast Recipes

This Gingerbread Granola is a perfectly crunchy, packed-with-clusters granola recipe! It’s wonderful as a festive holiday snack but also worthy of wrapping up in a pretty little jar and gifting to neighbors, coworkers, friends and family. Enjoy it on its own, incorporated into a holiday trail mix or on top of Greek yogurt.

  • Easy Breakfast Casserole from PaleOMG

Easy Holiday Breakfast Recipes

This PaleOMG recipe is a go-to casserole I love to make when we have guests in town because because I can prep it ahead of time and everyone loves it! It’s a great way to get some veggies in making it a wonderful way to start the day when you know the rest of the day is going to be packed with heavier, more indulgent food.

  • Paleo Pumpkin Oatmeal

Easy Holiday Breakfast Recipes

A naturally sweet, warm and comforting breakfast, this Pumpkin Paleo Oatmeal is the perfect way to start your day. Made with a combination of egg whites, almond milk, flax seeds and pumpkin, it’s a voluminous Paleo and Whole30-friendly dish that will fill you up without weighing you down. This is a great option to serve to any gluten or dairy-free family and friends.

  • Gingerbread Oatmeal

Gingerbread Oatmeal

I posted this recipe for Gingerbread Oatmeal recently and have loved watching so many of you make it and share your Instagram Stories of this deliciously festive dish! It’s a nourishing recipe made with deliciously fragrant gingerbread spices — ginger! cinnamon! nutmeg! cloves! all spice! — that will make your house smell amazing and your mouth start watering.

  • Nana’s Famous Egg Dish from The Fitnessista

Gina has raved about this recipe on her blog for years and when I finally took the time to make it, I instantly understood why! It’s fluffy and cheesy and wonderful topped with fresh pico de gallo and avocado.

  • Best Ever Morning Glory Muffins

Packed with carrots, apple, pineapple, coconut, raisins and walnuts these Best Ever Morning Glory Muffins earn every last bite of their delicious name. These are a bit more labor-intensive to make, but are 100% worth the extra effort. (You can absolutely make them in advance, too!) This is the type of muffin that feels special and very much holiday-worthy!

  • Egg and Croissant Brunch Bake from Pinch of Yum

Yes, this is all kinds of indulgent and it’s all kinds of worth it. This Egg and Croissant Brunch Bake pairs perfectly with a mimosa during the holiday season. Bonus: A lot of it can be prepped ahead!

  • French Toast Casserole from Belle of the Kitchen

This recipe makes the whole house smell amazing! It’s a great alternative to traditional French toast I love to make when we have guests in town because it doesn’t require you to stand over the stove and flip a million pieces of French toast. We love this recipe topped with fresh berries… and, okay, sometimes whipped cream, too!

love the cheese puff…it always makes me laugh and think of the strata scene in THE FAMILY STONE one of those odd, rare, Xmas movies that very few people know about!
..but being allergic to ham, so we use smoked turkey or chicken.

..yes, I do eat something OTHER than stuffing and sides on Xmas day.

Merry CHRISTmas to you and your lovely family…we are in the middle of the bomb cyclone and are going to be snowed in which is fine as we only got back from Halifax last night and are EXHAUSTED!!!!!!!

I’ve been looking for Christmas breakfast traditions since I got married 7 years ago and this year I made your family’s monkey bread and cheese puff casserole and they were perfect. I am so excited to make these dishes every year. Thanks for sharing!
