Energizing Coffee + Workout Playlist

November 20, 2014 by Julie 39 Comments

Good morning party people! I hope things are going well for you so far and that you’re not too sleepy this morning.

Coffee always helps, right!?

I’m hoping my big ol’ cup of coffee kicks in soon and energizes me through the indoor cycling class I’ll be teaching as soon as this blog post goes up.

waffles pumpkin seeds

Along with a hot mug of coffee, I also had two waffles topped with a drizzle of maple syrup and pumpkin seeds for breakfast.

And two small clementines and two hard boiled eggs for a punch of protein!

clementines and eggs

I ate my morning meal while unpacking some amazing goodies I received in the mail yesterday to give to my Girls On The Run team members. We have our practice 5K this afternoon and I wanted to fill goody bags with fun fitness/outdoor-themed gifts to give to the girls after they’re done running.

I’ll be placing everything into bags later this afternoon before the practice 5K and will share everything with you then, but for now I have to head out to teach!

Here is today’s playlist:

Spinning Class Playlist

Thanks so much to a bunch of you guys out there for your song recommendations! And yes, Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” made it on my playlist again. I can’t help myself.

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

I went to spin at Flywheel this morning and the instructor played an awesome remix of “Shake It Off”. You have to check it out! If you like the original you’ll love the remix!

Shake it off is so dang catchy. I hear it at least once a day at a the gym (sometimes twice if my regular radio station plays it, too). But it definitely helps you power through a hard workout!

Now that I’m branching out from teaching only Les Mills pre-choreographed formats and have been creating my own bootcamps, I’ve noticed how hard it is to find really good FAST and INTENSE songs for hard stuff. Thanks for all your playlists.

I need a coffee SO badly right now (even though I realize it’s almost noon) because my toddler was terrible last night. I don’t blame her…molars coming in are no joke! But still, I miss sleep before having a child!! haha

I do feel like that spin playlist would wake me up in a good way though And I’ve never thought to put pumpkin seeds (or any seeds for that matter!) on pancakes. Love that idea!

Bang Bang by Jessie J is a great playlist song! I don’t listen to it outside of class but it’s an upbeat, fun song that is the perfect tempo for spin. I’m pretty sure all of the instructors at my gym have played it at least once in their classes.
