No Bake Peanut Butter Bars

Have you been in this position? You want something sweet, and you have a craving for peanut butter. But you aren’t in the mood to bake, so cookies or a time-consuming recipe are out.

No bake peanut butter bars to the rescue!

When I don’t feel like spending too much time in the kitchen, no bake recipes are the way to go.

No Bake Peanut Butter Bars Recipe

I threw together this creation in five minutes by combining crunchy peanut butter, sweet honey, crispy bran flakes, chewy oats, cinnamon and protein-packed chia seeds. Truthfully, I thought it was a rather random combination that might not turn out too well, but both Ryan and I thought these no bake peanut butter bars were surprisingly delicious.

You know I’ll be making these soon.

My favorite all-time no bake recipe is Britt’s healthy brown rice crispy treats she made me for my birthday. I’ve made them a few times since, and I can’t. stop. when they’ve on my countertop. http://www.eatingbirdfood.com/brown-rice-crispy-treats/

Aww you ladies are too sweet.

I’m all about no bakes! I have a peanut butter and chocolate no bake cookie recipe that is one of my favorites. It’s just like the no bake cookies my mom used to make only a tiny bit healthier.

As a fellow lover of no-bake recipes, I’ve gotta share this one:

1 1/2 cups quick cooking rolled oats
    1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1/2 cup unsweetened dried fruit (my favorites include cranberries or dates)
1/2 cup pure maple syrup or honey
1/2 cup natural nut butter (I always go for PB, the good old standby)
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed and/or chia seeds
    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Similar to your recipe, I just throw it all in a bowl and stir until it makes something that can be pressed into either bars or mini muffin tins. I find myself craving this and genuinely choosing it over dessert some days! Enjoy

These look great! I might incorporate some steel cut oats for good measure, too – YUM!

In terms of recipes, heck – I’m working on even learning to bake well, nonetheless non-bake! I’ll get there one day, but in the meantime, I’m committed to figuring out what ingredients work well together. I’ll have to venture that way (the way of the nonbake) in the near future.

3 ingredient energy bars for sure. to good and energy packed to fuel an after work run

    1 cup dates (12-15), pitted
    1 cup dried fruit
    1 cup nuts

blend it all in the food processor, press into a pan and let stiffen in the fridge. i usually cut down to the size of a granola bar.

fav combo: dates, cranberries, walnuts. throw in some chia seeds for fiber if you like.

I love easy, no bake recipes! My absolute favorite is apparently what is called an Eclair dessert cake! I have always just referred to it as graham cracker pudding cake, but here is a recipe that closely resembles mine (don’t remember mine off the top of my head haha):

    http://allrecipes.com/recipe/chocolate-eclair-dessert/

Instead of topping with chocolate frosting, I drizzle chocolate syrup in between the layers and on top for some fun. I have also used different flavors of the instant pudding like chocolate and butterscotch. It is definitely versatile.

I never said it was healthy, but it is amazing during the summer since it is so light, cool, and refreshing

Those look yummy! With the heat coming it’s great to make treats without the oven.

Have you heard of the neck cooling bandanas?

    Found one here:

My mom had one that I would use on hot days. Maybe you can wear one on walks to help keep you cool.

Yumm!! Who can resist peanut butter? I could seriously put it on anything! These look great, and I love the addition of chia seeds. I went on a big chia kick about a year ago and put them in every meal I made. Chia overload, but a healthy addition, at least!
