Oatmeal Snickerdoodle Smoothie

This creamy, satisfying dessert-like oat snickerdoodle smoothie is wonderful for breakfast, an afternoon pick-me-up or even a sweet treat after dinner. Thank you to The Quaker Oats Company for sponsoring this post!

Oatmeal Snickerdoodle Smoothie

I’m on a smoothie-a-day kick. BIG TIME. I’d love to blame my current smoothie obsession on the summer heat but longtime readers know I’ve been a smoothie fanatic for years. They’re my favorite way to incorporate fruits and veggies into my diet and I love the way smoothies come together quickly and leave me feeling satisfied. In the nearly 10 years I’ve been blogging I’ve shared countless smoothie recipes but I don’t think I’ve ever shared a dessert smoothie recipe with you guys. That’s insanity and clearly needed to change!

Oatmeal Snickerdoodle Smoothie

In my mind, the definition of a dessert smoothie is a smoothie that’s sweet and satisfying but doesn’t crossover into indulgent milkshake territory. It’s still nutritious and made with good-for-you ingredients but doesn’t look or taste like you’re drinking a salad. Enter the Snickerdoodle Smoothie! Yes, this smoothie makes a wonderful breakfast and yes, it’s also fabulous as an afternoon pick-me-up, but my favorite way to enjoy it is at the end of a hot summer day when my sweet tooth starts raging and I want something cold and creamy to enjoy.

Oatmeal Snickerdoodle Smoothie

This smoothie is deliciously doughy. You heard that right — doughy — and if you’re a bit of a texture freak like me and love ice cream with bits and pieces of treats you can chew along with your creamy ice cream, I have a feeling you will have no problem embracing the doughiness of this smoothie! It’s an oat snickerdoodle cookie in smoothie form and made with a base of frozen bananas and Quaker Old Fashioned Oats. It gets its creaminess from the banana and cashew butter but the doughy texture is all oats, baby!

Oatmeal Snickerdoodle Smoothie

It’s a smoothie I feel good about drinking since it has 10 grams of fiber, 18 grams of protein, calcium and potassium. And the 100% whole grain oats in this oat snickerdoodle smoothie are a source of essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B1, magnesium, phosphorus and manganese. This recipe makes one large smoothie so on the nights when I’m not too hungry but still want a little something sweet, I’ll halve the recipe or split it with Ryan since he’s a fan of this one, too!

Oatmeal Snickerdoodle Smoothie

The next time you’re craving something cold and sweet at the end of the day, give this smoothie a try and please let me know what you think! And, if you want to learn more about the whole grain goodness of oats and check out some great smoothie recipes, you can visit QuakerOats.com/Smoothies for more info.

I can’t wait to make this! Can you use a different kind of nut butter and still get the same taste?

I’ve made it with almond butter and loved it though I do prefer cashew butter only because it’s a little more mild and just seems to add to the buttery/creamy flavor and texture! I also tried it with peanut butter but felt like the peanut butter took over a little too much (and that’s coming from a serious peanut butter lover)!

I just made this, but used almond butter instead because I didn’t have cashew butter and omg!! It’s actually really good! I typically don’t follow smoothie recipes because they taste too ‘healthy’ but this one tastes indulgent! Thank you for creating this! It’s a go-to healthy sweet treat for me now :)))

What can I use in place of the date?

You can just omit it and it should still taste good, though slightly less sweet. I would maybe add a splash of maple syrup to the smoothie if you keep the date out just so it still has that dessert-like flavor!

I actually have and it’s great!! The kind I use made it a little frothier if that makes any sense but it was still so good!

Drinking this right now and it’s so good! I only had peanut butter but I used almond milk so I think that offset the peanut butteriness because it’s perfect.

Definitely making this one again … maybe tomorrow!

Not sure what kind of cinnamon you’re using…but if you aren’t using Saigon Cinnamon, I HIGHLY recommend! It is so good – almost sweet? – and makes a huge, huge difference. I’m literally putting it in everything. The Spice Islands brand is especially delightful!

Hi! Love the look of this recipe, but sometimes too much regular milk upsets my stomach- do you think a milk alternative or half milk/half milk alternative would work?

absolutely! i’ve made it with both unsweetened vanilla almond milk and cashew milk and both were great.

My family and I tried this today and it was sooo good. This is our new favorite dessert smoothie recipe! I love that it tastes like an indulgent milkshake but is full of healthy ingredients. We used almond butter because that’s what we had on hand. Thank you for the awesome recipe, Julie!
