TRX Workout

May 1, 2014 by Julie 39 Comments

Today is going to be a rather busy one, but that’s fine with me!

After work, I have a few errands to run to get everything in order for my friend Cherayne’s bachelorette party in Miami this weekend. Around 20 of us are heading to South Beach for an all-day pool party on Saturday and Cherayne’s bridal shower on Sunday. Lots of fun on the agenda!

But for now, my mind is on teaching TRX.

Here’s the TRX workout I put together for today’s class:

TRX Workout

It will be a fast-paced one for sure! I’m hoping to do this workout myself right before I teach.

Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was another bagel topped with peanut butter and banana!

Bagel with banana and honey

Plus a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of chia seeds.

Bagel topped with banana, honey and chia seeds

Time to head out the door. Enjoy your Thursday!

Be sure to follow PBFingers on Instagram and Facebook!

I'd love to connect with you! I am always so grateful when you let me know you tried one of my recipes or workouts and tag me in your photos or updates. Thank you so much!!!

Awesome! Never done TRX though…how is it? Do I need special equipment? I’m more of a dumbbells/bodyweight/runner kind of exerciser, haha!

I teach a TRX class, too! It’s so much fun – and such a great tool. I use it all the time myself, too.

I wonder if you can set up TRX at home?? I really want to try it, and I don’t have a gym membership (My gym is at home haha). It just always looks like so much fun :)!

You can! My husband ordered some TRX-esque straps on amazon which you can either hook over the back of a door or mount on a pole (we mounted them to a light pole on our back patio)– they work great! To us it was a better investment than buying a ton of different weights (especially since we don’t have any room for a home “gym”).

I miss being at a gym that had TRX equipment I could use. I’m moving soon though and joining a new gym, so I’m hoping this will be an option!

Wow! You do a workout before you teach!? How are you not exhausted? I use to teach a circuit blast class at the Y and a few other classes…I was always drenched and tired afterwards. I tried to do as much as the class did with corrections included. I did however workout out before PT clients as it wasn’t overly physical. I’m impressed!

I don’t do the workout with the class when I teach TRX. I just demo the moves and help with corrections while the class goes through the circuit.

Do you like chia or flax seeds better? I think I like the texture/taste of flax better, but I’ve heard that chia seeds pack a ton of nutrition.

It depends! I like the crunch from chia seeds and to really get the benefits of flax seeds, I’ve read they need to be ground…

Wow, 20 girls at a Bachelorette? That seems like so many, mine was only 6 of us and most of the ones I’ve been to were about that size.

Ooh, I’ve never thought to put chia seeds on a bagel combo like that! I bet adding those on holds you over for a long time. Great idea!

I haven’t had a bagel in years. Your mention of bagels reminded me of when there used to be so many bagels shops around. I don’t see bagels shops anymore like years ago. Maybe it’s just me, but they seemed to have lost their mojo.

I’ve always wanted to use the TRX equipment but my gym doesn’t let just anyone use it. I think you have to be enrolled in the TRX class which is like an extra 200-300 bucks on top of membership So for now, I just look at TRX workouts longingly…maybe one day
